🚶Stride Against Hunger: The 44th Annual Murrysville CROP Hunger Walk

As autumn leaves begin to fall, the Murrysville community is gearing up for the 44th annual CROP Hunger Walk on October 8. This year, the walk will traverse the picturesque Westmoreland Heritage Trail, showcasing the natural beauty of our region while rallying against hunger.

The event will commence with sign-ins at 1 p.m., followed by the walk at 1:30 p.m. Last year's endeavor was a resounding success, raising nearly $11,400 — the highest annual total to date. The funds raised echo the community's collective resolve to combat hunger, making a significant impact both locally and globally.

A substantial 25% of the funds raised will be channeled to local needs. This portion will be distributed between Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church’s Loaves & Fishes food pantry, and two local food distribution centers affiliated with the Westmoreland County Food Bank. This local allocation underscores the essence of the CROP Hunger Walk, fostering a network of support that extends from our neighbors to individuals across the globe.

The 3.5-mile journey will kick off and conclude at Duff Park, located at 4500 School Road South in Murrysville. It's an opportunity for community members to come together, step by step, towards a world without hunger.

For those interested in participating, sponsoring a walker, or donating, you can reach out at 724-327-0061 or register online. More information is also available on the event's webpage.

Join hands with the Murrysville community in this noble endeavor. Your involvement, whether through walking, sponsoring, or donating, will resonate through the steps taken on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail, echoing hope and solidarity in the fight against hunger.
