👨‍⚕️Pharmacy Shakeup: Murrysville's Rite Aid to Shut Down Amid Nationwide Store Closures

The Rite Aid pharmacy on William Penn Highway in Murrysville is set to close on October 8, as part of Rite Aid's broader restructuring following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy declaration. This move comes amidst the company's plan to shut down 400 to 500 stores nationwide due to a debt of over $3.3 billion and facing numerous opioid oversupply lawsuits.

The pharmacy will retain its usual hours until closure. Post-closure, prescriptions will be transferred to the Salem (Delmont) or Holiday Park Rite Aid branches, unless directed otherwise by customers.

Rite Aid aims for a smooth transition for its customers, ensuring continued access to health services. The company is also working on relocating associates to other Rite Aid outlets in the region.

Residents looking for alternative pharmacies can turn to nearby options like Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Walgreens, or Mainline Pharmacy within Ferri’s IGA Supermarket.

🏈 Rivals Clash Under Friday Night Lights: Franklin Regional and Plum Seek Redemption on the Gridiron
(Game Day Preview)

In the heart of the Class 5A Big East Conference, a riveting narrative unfolds as the Franklin Regional Panthers gear up to face the Plum Mustangs in a game that promises to be a local spectacle. The stage is set for 7 p.m. this Friday at Mustang Stadium, Plum, where the echoes of last year's close encounter still linger amidst the autumn chill.

The Panthers, boasting a 3-2 record, are riding high on a morale-boosting 55-7 triumph over Shaler last week. This victory was particularly sweet, erasing the bitter aftertaste of a 44-24 setback against Gateway. The spotlight shone bright on big-play receiver Ayden Hudock, who dazzled the crowd with six catches, amassing 142 yards and finding the end zone twice. The Panthers' offense roared to life, scoring 49 unanswered points, showcasing a blend of grit and finesse that left the spectators in awe.

On the other side of the field, the Mustangs, holding a 2-3 record, are hungry to snap a three-game losing streak that has cast a shadow over their season. Last week's 49-14 loss to Gateway was a tough pill to swallow, especially with the passing defense being sieved for nearly 400 yards. Yet, amidst the adversity, Kenny Lewis emerged as a beacon of hope, reeling in eight catches for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Mustangs are now poised to defend their turf and rewrite the narrative.

The historical backdrop of this rivalry adds a layer of intrigue to the upcoming clash. Last year, the Panthers narrowly edged the Mustangs 31-28 in a nail-biter that had the entire community on the edge of their seats. The Mustang Stadium bore witness to a gridiron battle that etched itself in the local sports lore.

As the neighboring teams prepare to lock horns once again, the stakes are high, and the anticipation is palpable. The Panthers aim to build on their newfound momentum, while the Mustangs yearn for redemption and a chance to even the score. The local community is abuzz, as Friday night promises a blend of high-octane football action and neighborly rivalry that will be recounted in tales for years to come.

The gridiron awaits, the players are ready, and as the sun sets this Friday, the roar of the crowd will herald a new chapter in this enduring rivalry. The local community is invited to come and be a part of this electrifying tradition, as the echoes of cheers and tackles resonate under the starlit sky.
