Do You Love Working with Your Hands? Check Out Murrysville's Skilled Laborer Opening

The Municipality of Murrysville has an opening for a full-time skilled laborer position within its Public Works Department.

The ideal candidate will hold a CDL Class A license without an air brake restriction. However, the municipality will provide 180 days after hiring for a new employee to obtain the required licensing.

This hands-on role involves lifting up to 100 lbs. as well as working in extreme weather conditions for long periods. A high school diploma or GED is required, while construction, asphalt, masonry and turf maintenance skills are preferred but not mandatory.

The full-time position includes availability for overtime hours, day or night. Interested applicants can pick up applications on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Municipal Building (4100 Sardis Rd.) or online at https://www.murrysville.com/Jobs.aspx.

🎃 Trunk or Treat Tradition Lives On at Mother of Sorrows Parish

Get ready for tricks, treats, and trunks galore at Mother of Sorrows' 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat on October 23rd!

Following the 4:30 pm Mass, the church parking lot will transform into a family-friendly Halloween haunt for Murrysville community members. Decorated car trunks will offer safe trick-or-treating and spooky fun.

"We love bringing everyone together for this sweet event," said [youth ministry leader]. "Seeing the creative trunks and happy kids is the best treat!"

Stick around after trick-or-treating for prizes, music, games, and dinner options for purchase.

New this year, Mother of Sorrows teens and adults attending the National Catholic Youth Conference will dress up as saints to share inspiring stories. Kids are encouraged to don saint costumes as well for this saintly twist!

Proceeds benefit youths attending the life-changing NCYC pilgrimage, which features uplifting worship, speakers, and service.

Thespians at Franklin Regional Middle School Bring Heartwarming Tale to Stage

The Franklin Regional Middle School drama club, The Thespians, will present their adaptation of the beloved novel "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" on October 12 and 13 at 7:00pm in the school's Little Theater.

Based on the book by Kate DiCamillo, "Edward Tulane" follows the adventures of a vain stuffed rabbit who is lost by his owner and embarks on an incredible journey to discover the true meaning of love. The Thespians' stage version was adapted by Dwayne Hartford and will run approximately 45 minutes.

"Our students have worked hard to bring DiCamillo's moving story to life on stage," said [drama club director]. "The tale of Edward Tulane is one that resonates with young and old alike, teaching viewers a beautiful lesson about love. We invite the community to join us for this heartwarming production."

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds support the Franklin Regional Middle School drama program.
