✅ Delmont Greenlights Plan to Boost Pedestrian Connectivity and Town Amenities
Delmont's leadership has approved an active transportation plan, initially aimed at connecting to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. The expanded plan focuses on enhancing pedestrian accessibility within the town and includes provisions for daily amenities for residents and businesses.
Collaborating with various architectural and developmental groups, the Delmont Visionary Committee has outlined multiple pathways, infrastructure enhancements, and community-centric priorities. The committee will discuss further developments in a meeting on November 1 at the Delmont Public Library.

Murrysville's Spooktacular Bash: Unicorns, Decor, and a Heart of Gold!
Guess what? Halloween in Murrysville is about to get a whole lot spookier, and in the best way possible! SPARK Consulting is hosting a can't-miss Halloween bash at 3498 Meadow Gate Drive. They've gone all out this year, decking the place with some seriously cool decorations. And here's the kicker: there's talk of a famous unicorn from Westmoreland County making a special appearance. Yep, you read that right—a unicorn! 🦄
But it's not just about the fun and games. While you're soaking in the Halloween vibes, you can also spread some love by donating to St. Jude. This whole event is in honor of Uncle Ken Mauder. For those in the know, his legendary chip dip was the stuff of legends. So, in his memory, let's make this event a smashing success!
Want to stay in the loop with all the spooky updates? Keep an eye on SPARK's Facebook page. And hey, if you're curious about anything or just want to chat about the event, drop them an email at [email protected] or buzz them at 724-374-8866.
♨️ Local Business Spotlight: The Kitchen on Penn
in the heart of Murrysville, along the bustling William Penn Highway, lies a culinary gem that has been making waves in the local dining scene: "The Kitchen on Penn." This modern American restaurant, with its scratch food and open kitchen concept, offers a unique dining experience that stands out in the region.
The masterminds behind this venture, Lorrie & Rick McQuaide, are no strangers to the restaurant industry. With a rich history spanning over 25 years, the duo has established and managed a plethora of successful hospitality services. Their impressive portfolio includes renowned establishments such as The Kitchen on Main, The Kitchen Wine Cellar, The Kitchen Pantry in Ligonier, Asiago's Tuscan Italian, The Mirage Events, and the Tap814 Speakeasy and Supperclub in Johnstown.
The decision to expand to Murrysville was driven by a vision to introduce the distinctive "open Kitchen" concept to an area previously untouched by such a novelty. Whether you're a traveler passing through to Pittsburgh or a local resident, The Kitchen on Penn promises the same warm and inviting atmosphere that has become synonymous with the McQuaide brand.
Beyond the delectable modern American fare, the restaurant is deeply rooted in community engagement. They are known for hosting events that support local charities and nonprofits, emphasizing their commitment to community support and investments. Their mission? To continue fostering local connections and making a positive impact in the area.
In a world where dining experiences are often replicated and predictable, The Kitchen on Penn offers a breath of fresh air. It's not just about the food; it's about the experience, the community, and the passion that goes into every dish. If you find yourself in Murrysville, make sure to pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed.
