Delmont Police Force Welcomes David Johnston as Newest Full-Time Officer Following Recent Council Approval

David Johnston, who previously served as a part-time officer with the Delmont Police, has recently been promoted to a full-time position within the force. This development came to fruition during the borough council meeting held on September 12.

Johnston steps in to fill the vacancy left by Officer Richard Stephens, who stepped down from his role at the end of August. It should be noted that Johnston has been executing duties on a full-time basis in the borough since the beginning of September.

During the same meeting, the council gave unanimous approval for Aaron Thompson to assume the part-time role that Johnston vacated.

It was observed that Councilwoman Pam Simpson was absent from the proceedings.

Both teams showcased resilience and adaptability, with Latrobe's coach praising their game management and Franklin's coach commending their improved focus in the second half. The game was played amidst a backdrop of injuries and absences on the Franklin Regional side.

Murrysville Homeowner Faces Charges for Issuing Bad Check in Bid to Prevent Property Tax Sale

Prasad Margabandhu, a 47-year-old resident of Mt. Lebanon, is facing charges for allegedly issuing a fraudulent $25,000 check to halt the tax sale of his luxurious property in Murrysville, as per court documents.

The property, acquired in 2007 and situated in the upscale Hilltop Estates, has been involved in various transactions and was listed for $499,000 in 2015.

Margabandhu, who has a history of financial disputes and legal issues concerning property ownership, secured an emergency motion to halt the sale but the check bounced due to insufficient funds. The property is now listed for a tax sale on September 11. Margabandhu is expected to attend a preliminary hearing on October 12.

Keller's Dominant Pitching Guides Pirates to Victory Over Nationals in Tight Encounter

Mitch Keller delivered a stellar performance, pitching eight innings with only two hits, helping the Pittsburgh Pirates secure a 2-0 victory over the Washington Nationals on Thursday. Keller, who has been in fine form recently with a 3.07 ERA in his last seven starts, credited his success to a varied attack plan and effective pitch choices.

David Bednar closed the game with a flawless ninth inning, marking his 35th save. Despite a strong performance from the Nationals' Josiah Gray, who struck out 10 over 6 1/3 innings, the Pirates managed to clinch the win with home runs from Jack Suwinski and Alfonso Rivas. Nationals' manager Dave Martinez criticized his team's lack of crisp at-bats and their tendency to chase out of the zone. The Pirates have been on a winning streak, securing 11 victories in their last 16 games.
