Innovative Indoor Pickleball Complex Coming to Murrysville This March
In response to the demand for year-round pickleball facilities in Murrysville, Jillian Bateman-McIntosh and David Vargo are set to introduce Pickleball Harbor, a dedicated indoor pickleball complex. The 14,500-square-foot facility, strategically located off Mellon Road, is anticipated to open in March.
It aims to cater to the sport's enthusiasts, offering a climate-controlled environment with six courts, including two designed to meet USA Pickleball tournament standards. Besides the sporting aspect, the facility plans to foster community engagement through social events and a pro shop. Local pickleball players, recognizing the sport's growing popularity among various age groups, have expressed enthusiasm for the project.
This initiative also addresses the need for consistent play conditions and adequate court time, which are currently challenging due to limited availability and shared use with other sports. The membership-based access and the provision of indoor courts are seen as significant steps in promoting pickleball throughout the year, despite differing opinions on the necessity of an indoor venue during warmer months.
